The nice thing about Ron ending up with Hermione, is the story of the guy getting a woman who is way better than him, and hopefully, that makes him better. Her settling for him, is beyond me. I guess she just likes dorky side characters.

That's pretty good; she didn't choose a man to keep her protected so she can do :"woman" stuff; she's a badass all by herself. Great to see Emma Watson being quite the Female role model, just like her character.

She is a great role model. Plus, that's my type of gal, one who settles

They did get lucky that all of the kids grew up to be good looking. Though I still don't find her attractive but I'm sure that's more that she looks like a teenager still than anything that is actually wrong with her. I'm almost 33 and can't be finding 20 year olds attractive. Just feels wrong

On this topic, I found Ginny-Harry pretty bad.

The worst of it was it seemed like an after thought. Haven't read the books since 7 came out but just re watched all 8 movies and it's hilarious how they treat it. No better analysis of their relationship than the end of the movie where the happy couples send their kids to school and the camera slowly zooms in on Harry/Hermoine/Ron and cuts Ginny out of frame

Trying to be a more present force on here after chatting to SDA the other day. How's everyone and everything been? We all still just meh on the state of the X-Universe?

Thanks Agent Felix. "Everyone" is either enjoying a glorious exile on The Other CBR, posts in various boards here, or has disappeared into the internet-abyss. I'm mostly on the other site, but when they brought X-Cres back here I figured I'd start posting to see who else trickles in. And it has been a slooooow trickle.

Hermione is the best character of the Potter series, she deserves more respect in-universe. Potter would be dead without her, or useless

I, too was baffled by the Harry/Ginny relationship for all the reasons that have been stated. And I didn't [don't] like Ron/Hermione either. Not because I shipped her with Harry, or with anybody else, but purely because they have no chemistry. Ron spends most of the series passive-aggressively bullying her, which was accepted because they are 'friends'. I guess you could retroactively read their semi-antagonistic relationship as Ron working through his feelings for her, while dealing with his many insecurities as The Least Talented Member of the Trio.
