As for Batman the batmobile ruined that game.

While it bothered me that is was forced upon us so much I don't think it ruined the game. I still enjoy it a great deal.

It's specifically the tank mode Batmobile missions that I think are the most cumbersome.

One of the reasons I've been hesitant to play it is because of all that has come before. What do I need to know of previous Metal Gear lore to understand this game?

I am jelly right now. I have MG, MG2, MGS2, MGS3, and MGS:PW and I can't play them because the PS3 just died. And now i can't play MSG5 until I get a PS4.

So unlucky.

Anyway, in completely unrelated news, I saw the film about Amy Winehouse on the weekend. The one simply titled 'Amy'. I was somewhat familiar with her but really didn't know too much about her life. It's sad that she was surrounded by people who wanted to take advantage of her fame and people who enabled her destructive addictions. If this weren't the case then perhaps she would still be singing jazz tunes. Tragic. But a great film.

I've never been able to get into Gotham. For me the Batman story doesn't start until the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne in Crime Alley.

That's where Gotham starts too. My problem with it was that there was too much flat acting - every moment Barbara was on screen was painful to watch.
