It probably would be a big hit...but would still suck as bad as the others you mentioned.

I love Brubaker but he didn't do well on the x-books...Paul Cornell might be a good fit.

The others I mentioned were enjoyable to me. Taste is such a subjective thing.

Ultimate X-Men just always seemed like the weak link in the Ultimate books...even moreso as time passed.

As for the Wolverine stories, they had their moments but I hated how Millar went out of his way to build up Wolverine at the expense of practically the entire Marvel Universe...even for a (technically) solo story, that was pushing it too far.

    MY Uncanny X-Force team:

Bloodstorm comes to 616 universe and leads Uncanny X-Force

    Members:
    X-23
    Vampire Jubilee
    Hollow
    Multiple Man
    Bishop
Shatterstar (bringing back his 90's costume because that was awesome)
    Captain Britain

Ah. See, as a Wolverine fan, I loved it. And it would be awesome to see Millar go nuts with an X-Force team in the same manner. At least IMO. Or maybe bring over someone awesome from DC to write it. I don't know.

Considering how underwhelming Cornell's recent Wolverine runs were, I rather doubt that he'd be any better a fit than Millar. Greg Rucka could be interesting.

His Wolverine may have been lackluster but his Wisdom and Captain Britain & MI13 were excellent...and closer to the X-Force vibe I would want to see.

Rucka's a possibility...it's not really the type of book he's known for but neither was Cyclops and it was awesome so it could be a good fit...just don't know if he'd be interested.

I had an idea that pitted the new X-Force team up against either Weapon X or the Maruaders in an ongoing war. Or even a 3-way war between them all. The Marauders would be working for Mr Sinister, while Weapon X would be working for Romulus.

    X-Force

    Cable
    Sage
    Domino
    Shatterstar
    Warpath
    Bishop
    Forge
    Sunfire

    The Marauders

    Scalphunter
    Archlight
    Riptide
    Lady Mastermind
    Blockbuster
    Harpoon
    Vertigo
    Vanisher

    Weapon X

    Sabretooth
    Lady Deathstrike
    Omega Red
    Maverick
    Deadpool
    Daken
    Cyber
    Wildchild

Never liked Warpath. His brother was better.

Would try to keep with a damaged people seeking redemption who happen to kill and have a generally negative view of themselves or the world type of team.

-Dr Nemesis, his radical belief in science is a great counter to all the absurdity
-Zero, like Iceman, but made of meat and a sociopath, just let Nemesis regrow him from a recovered bit
-Daken, too popular to be a villain and stabby
-Magik, demon sorceress, time traveling teleporter, she could be the happy member of the team
-Quire, team full of anarchists like he pretends to be, subplot to evolve his character
-Crux, one of the Cerebrites from the 90s, computer program searching for humanity
