Dynamite GOLD KEY relaunch - Turok, Magnus, Solar and Dr Spektor

Dr Spektor is one of the worst books i've read in years. read the latest issue the other day and i don't understand anything that's going on.

kinda surprising, since it's Waid... the first issue was pretty good too.

second fail for DynaKey. (first one being Solar.) i can see now that this line won't last. i'm hoping Magnus and Turok outlast the others.

I don't disagree that Dr. Spektor #3 felt all over the map. I actually was feeling fairly well about issues #1-2...then I read #3 and was lost while reading it. I'd go back and re-read some pages thinking I missed a transition or dialogue box.

For me the first fail is Turok in this DynaKey experiment. They want so much for it to be familiar yet fresh and that's where they over extended. It doesn't feel familiar enough. The arcs seem to shift tone and focus.

Solar I've gone from curious to indifference. The book is basically Firestorm as of this moment.

Magnus is the only one I'm really enjoying.

Love Magnus - one of the best books on the stands. Solar is OK. Agree it has become similar to DC's Firestorm. Dropped Turok. Passed on Dr Spektor after skimming thru the first issue.

I also find my interest in Valiant's books fading fast....

Magnus is the best read.
I'm still waiting for an explanation on his "VR" life in prison where he was married to the resistance female leader vs his Real Life as a chosen Robot Fighter now?
That's my only lingering issue with the series to date.

He was a prisoner, why?
Why feed him a fake VR life where he's got a close, intimate and personal relationship with a woman that looks like the resistance leader?
Did he become the Robot Fighter while in prison or was he the Robot Fighter already? He emerged from the VR prison ready and able to fight.
Other than still needing those threads it's largely enjoyable.

Strange, since Nov starts a new arc with Robin Hood Wondering if they've already cancelled the gold key titles?

I think all these books will probably be cancelled by issue 12, recently DE have been more focused on the Chaos line, than in the GK books.(obviously they own Chaos.)
