I'm starting to get the feeling that she has a split personality from her self doubting, but then it would be wierd if she didn't take a step back to take in the surrealness of her situation.
Midgardian? Its Thor's mom
Big fan of Dauterman's art, but Thor #2 just trashed it. His detailed work was destroyed by too many FX (whirling lightning specifically and some really AWFUL lettering sound FX that looked like a child's scrawl). I could never really decipher where the true action was. The coloring choices were bland and non-descript (just a mass of blue) and did nothing to delineate the action or the actual art. Basically an exercise in "how can we best cover up some really awesome art?". Aaron's coy dialogue certainly didn't help the plot which seemed like just the first half of an actual story. Wanted to give the new Thor a fair try, but all these things combined ruined it for me.

She's a new character introduced in God of Thunder as a possible new love interest for Thor. (so far there is some UST, but nothing beyond that) she is a marine biologist working for SHIELD as an environmental specialist. She has also killed some trolls when they invaded Broxton, and punched Dario Agger in the face.
Right now, I'm in it for Malekith, who is coming across really well here. But I hope Thor-ette is Frigga, because I think that's more interesting than just letting her be some new person.
I would find it weird if it was Roz. With Aaron saying that if you are choosing a new Thor the likelihood is that its going to be a woman because Thor's supporting cast is full of them. So he has Jane, Sif, Frigga, Amora, Lorelai, Vakyrie, Thor Girl, Hela etc but chooses the character he made up himself a few months ago? Plus, you are going for a new Thor, its going to take a lot for that to be a success after so many years as a male character, why start from scratch with a new character when you can import good will from an established one?
This was a major news story for Marvel, when it is revealed the general question regarding Roz will be 'Who?'
Pretty much this. Also the ladies of Asgard are underdeveloped and could use the attention. Now looking at Thor-ette's internal dialogue, it seems to be an Asgardian (or at least non-Earth woman). It doesn't feel like Vakyrie or Sif's typical dialogue either.
I'll also point out that Thor in first issue doesn't look like the Thor from 616, so this might be an alternate universe thing going on. Likewise we only have one Frigga in that intro, not the trio.
My hope is that it's Frigga, but I would be fine if it were a Story-Thor ala Loki-Leah who Frigga created to fill Thor's role the way Loki created Leah. That would explain the chained book thing in the library.
Roz Solomon. lol. What a name.
It's almost Claremontian.
And could Dario Agger be any more supremely template bad guy? Right down to the oily CEO exterior that masks his true inner beastliness?
... where on earth are you getting the impression she's not human? I got the exact opposite impression. She is clearly 100% regular human. She lacks the Asgardian font in the thought balloons and her dialogue balloon before she was in Thor mode, and her thoughts seem very human to me.
Also, this isn't an alternate universe, his appearances in Avengers and Axis show that. It's just regular old Thor, being mopey and not taking care of himself.
Anyway, I hope it is Roz, she's badass, and i like her. Aaron should not feel obligated to shoehorn existing characters into a story they may not be appropriate for, or use them just for the sake of using them. Story first.
