I'm a bit more optimistic for Priest's return to Quantum and Woody, but that's an interesting bad to have for this. Then again my optimism is probably from being a dragon ball fan and being used to an author not really remembering stuff about his own material. How'd you feel about the change with them actually being brothers?
That itself wasn't so bad. The problem that I have with the book is that, while Asmus is a fine writer, and doing the best with what he's got, Q&W felt like so intrinsically Priest, anyone else doing it isn't even a new version, so much as a cover version. Part of it, and you can chalk it up to a double standard if you want, but there's no way a white writer can even pretend to try to get away with some of the race relations stuff that Priest did. There's no way Asmus can do noogie. Or, when they switch bodies, have Woody put in a dreadlock weave. Hell, there's stuff he's done he probably couldn't have gotten away with either, had Priest not set it up first. So the book comes off a little more as another Archer and Armstrong. Although even that is because Valiant just happens to be the only company with two wacky action partner books.

So while I'm not 100% on board with Asmus' version, it isn't crap either. It's just not the original. The brothers thing is ok. I actually do really like the twist about the Goat. But the best thing about it -- without it, I doubt Priest and Bright would have been lured to do more of the original Q&W.

Sure, why not. Although given that it's Namor, it's not going to flow as well as a Cap/BP team up. The whole point of Flags was Gabe going hey, kingdom of super black people, combined with Captain America being the awesomest white guy ever. Any Namor story is basically about him being a dick.

Although I do kind of like the point Hickman has taken Namor and T'Challa. Where they kind of want to kill each other, but they are also the only ones who understand the other's pain, so they kind of co-exist.

I don't think you can imbed videos outside of the TV Forums anymore.

So I checked out the first issue of Watson and Holmes on comixology, it was free, and I really liked it. I'll definitely be following this series from now on. Karl Bollers also worked on Sonic the Hedgehog too.

Actually, scratch that. I thought Dragon's Lair was in GA, not North Carolina. I'm still interested in hearing more about Myth Smith though.
