I can only help with Marvel: X-men, Mighty Avengers, Uncanny X-men and Superior Foes of Spiderman are the most diverse team comics (in terms of minority representation). Loki: Agent of Asgard, Ghost Rider, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Black Widow, Captain Marvel and Elektra are all minority solo series.

N.B. my five favourites are in bold.

I already read Loki. I want to pick up Ms. Marvel and Ghost Rider in trade and Elektra looks amazing!

I'm only reading three of these (four when the new Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-man comes out).



I would add Iron Patriot and Watson and Holmes to that list.

That itself wasn't so bad. The problem that I have with the book is that, while Asmus is a fine writer, and doing the best with what he's got, Q&W felt like so intrinsically Priest, anyone else doing it isn't even a new version, so much as a cover version. Part of it, and you can chalk it up to a double standard if you want, but there's no way a white writer can even pretend to try to get away with some of the race relations stuff that Priest did. There's no way Asmus can do noogie. Or, when they switch bodies, have Woody put in a dreadlock weave. Hell, there's stuff he's done he probably couldn't have gotten away with either, had Priest not set it up first. So the book comes off a little more as another Archer and Armstrong. Although even that is because Valiant just happens to be the only company with two wacky action partner books.

So while I'm not 100% on board with Asmus' version, it isn't crap either. It's just not the original. The brothers thing is ok. I actually do really like the twist about the Goat. But the best thing about it -- without it, I doubt Priest and Bright would have been lured to do more of the original Q&W.

I completely get you on all of this dude but I do feel Asus is putting in a great effort

Especially when I was worried it'd flop in the first place

And I'm glad it brought Priest and Bright back to comics in a way

Actually, scratch that. I thought Dragon's Lair was in GA, not North Carolina. I'm still interested in hearing more about Myth Smith though.

Ms. Marvel is really good. Will be getting Elektra #1 next week, and I've not tried Ghost Rider... but with Mr. Hyde showing up I might give that issue a shot. Are you loving Loki: Agent of Asgard? It's brilliant, and so beautifully rendered.

What’s Truly Outrageous about the Jem Movie

It's not just Shana. The person they cast for Aja (Hayley Kiyoko) is also half white and can pass for white as well. It's like the studio is having their cake and eating it too I guess because technically you can't call it racebending but it's definitely whitewashing.
