You have blown my mind. As much as I love smarmy John de Lancie, Elba would bring something so very different to the table. The chemistry between them, Kirk instead of Picard, I can't even imagine.

You heard it here first. Star Trek 3 w/ Idris Elba will be subtitled Worf Beginnings.

Denzel and Morgan Freeman are the Superman and Batman of black Hollywood leads (...yes that makes Don Cheadle Aquaman) it just hit me that the next group up- Idris, Chewetel Eji...'12 years a slave' lead and the young guy who played Dr. King in 'Selma' are all British. White actors loosing work to Fastbender's and Hemsworth's seem to be the rule rather than the exception. I guess more times than not we're alike more than we're different.

2 things- I guess it's easy enough to find out but please tell me Chadwick Boseman is from Philly or St. Louis or Oakland or somewhere and does this all mean we'll never seen Bokeem Woodbine on the big screen ever again? Sad.

I think that's almost a sure thing. What I think would be really cool is if that was a swerve. If Chen was actually helping train the younger heroes because he USED to be a villain but is really a new Avenger.

Eh, don't see why not. I was thinking someone more along the lines of Haruhi Shizimiya (sp?), Ion, or Thanos w/ the Infinity Gauntlet though. Never seen a black character like that before. Even someone like Dio Brando would be nice. Fabulous and frightening at the same time.
