I'd read about the show, but didn't know it was so far along that they'd already have one of these epic 3+ minute trailers to show. Anyway, I've never read any Hellblazer, so I know pretty much nothing about it or the character of Constantine. I've only seen the movie they made years ago with Keanu Reeves, which I thought was pretty awful (aside from the opening exorcism scene). But this looks interesting. Demons, Hell, tortured souls, black magic; I just like that kind of stuff. So this trailer definitely enticed me to check it out.
Actually looks pretty good.
although I admit I preferred Keanu despite the lack of british accent.
The J-man
Looks better than the movie... but not that better but at the very least looks like an episode of the first five seasons of Supernatural, and I really liked that show. I'm staying with my initial response of this is shit until proven otherwise, but I'm happy that they are quoting Hellblazer and not the New 52 series.
I have to admit, that does look rather promising. Good stuff.

they could have Deadman on the show and do a Deadman spin off.
One of his most famous stories involves him getting Cancer from smoking, at the end of the arc he was still smoking. He does need to smoke, is part of the character SPOILERS for those who care, he was even revived by smoking, makes more sense in context. It really isn't glamorized (and even then adults don't need to be baby sat, cancer is enough of a deterrent for most people) as everybody else reacts to it for the disgusting habit that it is.
It's hardly the same as Nick Fury, Wolverine or J Jonah, John isn't an admirable superhero. He is a character targeted at adults.
I don't, really. But the idea that adults would be compelled to smoke from watching a fictional character making people unconfortable by doing so is way stupid. I sort of get if it's targeted at kids, like having Wolverine smoking, but John Constantine? I'm way too old for a baby sitter.
