Briar Raleigh really gives this book the punch it needs outside of the usual Magneto agonistes. And Bunn totally called it, Claremont was the master at using new and little used characters as perfect support. So much more refreshing and better reading than throwing in an already-overexposed x-man in that role.
And that Panosian cover is stunning.
I think tha ti could sum all of this boars poster feeling in a word
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
Just read the first question..sounds to me like she's joining the book for good. This is great. This is better than I expected. Bunn writing Lorna...been one of the things I most wanted to see in 2015. Beautiful.
I just realized mags solo is selling 50% more than ANXF. . . I'm glad polaris is coming, peter david made me like the character a lot more
I don't want ANYONE I like in Uncanny Avengers...and I'm honestly hoping Alex will die in AXIS because it's the best thing that could happen to the character at this point...then someone can bring him back in a few years and fix him. I'm not saying I don't want Lorna to appear and interact with Magneto...I'm just saying I don't want her relegated to permanent bit player...I think you'd be happy if every x-character took a backseat to Magneto in every book though.
Wonderful news! This book has been fantastic from the start and finally the news I've been waiting for. It's great to know Polaris will be appearing here. I'm all for more Polaris appearances. Genosha was a very important aspect of her life too. I'm glad she gets some acknowledgment. I don't expect her to have a starring role or anything, but this is awesome and a welcome surprise.
As a major Polaris fan, after the ending of ANXF ending had sunk in, this is exactly what I was hoping for - and I am stoked, my friends! To say I eagerly anticipate(d) this would be a VAST understatement, no doubt! I like & respect Bunn, and think he feels the same way towards Lorna's character, so she's in VERY good hands IMO. I trust & have faith in him, and believe Polaris just might be in for some more long overdue, even GREATER development... to propel her into the future & elevate her to new heights! Cullen's the man, and for me, this announcement's like straight-up wish fulfillment!
Also, G-demon, the way he enthusiastically talked about Mags/Lorna/Genosha... I got the impression she was going to be anything but, "relegated to permanent bit player." In fact, perhaps I'm the one projecting here, but I came away with a cast status more akin to say... "co-star", TBH. This could be the beginning of BIG, future things for them as a "set" so to speak, one begets the other... pun intended.
X-mas comes early!!!
Sorry, but I think you are projecting if you think she's going to be a co-star in the series...given the path Magneto has been on, it wouldn't even make sense for her to be working with him in any lasting capacity (unless his inversion turns out to be one that sticks...and I don't think it will) unless you mean for her to be working against him, and that wouldn't stay interesting for very long either. Her showing up for an arc or two is a great idea but I don't think she's a good fit as a permanent cast member any more than Quicksilver or Scarlet Witch would be...I would like to see Polaris shine but I don't think playing second fiddle to Daddy is going to make that happen...no matter how good the writing is.
