I grew up with Barbara being somewhere in between the age of Bruce and Dick. It wouldn't feel right to me if she was younger. And for her to fit the Baman chronology I have in mind, she has to be born relatively soon to be around that right age in the future.

Of course, there's no rule that the show has to follow my chronology or fit any kind of comic book reality.

Given the soap operatic nature of the show, the inconvenience of a baby at this time in the lives of Jim and the senior Barbara would probably work better for the plot than if they had a child when they were married and ready to raise a family.

    So it's a porno then?

Fox shifted to an adult only network so subtly I didn't even notice it...

    That's a great question!

it does seem like a silly tease of a plot. They should have just let Gordon discover the guy's last name is Grayson and let it be an easter egg. Promoting it seems awfully silly.

I still say that season two has to take place at least two or three years after season one, we have to time jump to get to the good stuff - plus explain how the kids are aging so fast.

We get to see Mr. and Mrs. Grayson get together? How riveting. Because that was totally a plot point that everyone's been gagging to see.

Echoing what someone else here said, were the Grayson's even from Gotham? Pretty certain Harleen wasn't from Gotham either. Also giving us a definitive Joker origin is a baaaaaaad idea.

You know what, if I had heard this news a few months ago I'd probably be excited. Now though? Now I'm just glad it's so bad it'll probably get cancelled sooner rather than later. And to think the concept had such huge potential...

The Graysons were circus acrobats, so I assume they had no fixed address. But the circus must have passed through that area on a regular basis, as part of its circuit.

I have the sneaking suspicion people commenting on how bad Gotham is didn't watch past the first episode (if that).

While I'm not interested in the Graysons, I'm glad the showrunner confirmed what the fans of the series already knew; character introductions are going to be sporadic and the ones who are there are either main characters, like Penguin, or aren't given more to do than the plot demands, like Riddler. Falcone and Maroni do more than Edward Nygma in most episodes.

MAYBE, just maybe, if it keeps going as long as Smallville did, you might get a hint of Batman. But the on going "we hate it because there is no Batman" song is really lame. You may as well hate on Big Bang Theory because Albert Einstein isn't a regular. Why not try to enjoy the show for what it is, instead of some other show that doesn't exist yet? I hear that less self-imposed stress helps some folks to live longer.
Please don't compare ths drek to Smallville. It was ten times this show in waining seasons.Clark may not have been Superman on the show but he was acting looked and was doing Superman type stuff. What do we have on Gotham?A whiny anorexic looking child who looks weird throwing a punch.Catgirl the real star of the show looks like she could kick his ass.The show is named Gotham. If Bruce Wayne is on the show he should be the star because it's all about him.But forget all that and lets just concentrate on the bad writing and acting that's enough for it to be canceled alone. But it will probably not because Fox has jack **** to replace it.What can you expect from the same people who want to make Doctor Doom a blogger?

I'm enjoying this series a bunch. I find the "why isn't Batman in it?" complaints to be ridiculous. He IS in it. Nearly every episode, in fact. He's just a ten year-old kid. The kid's great, actually. The hints at the direction he's going to take...his developing detective and fighting skills...his intense sense of moral duty and justice. It's all great stuff. Alfred is wonderful.

This is a show about Gotham using James Gordon and the Penguin as "tour guides". It shows how the city creates the monsters within it. I think something quite interesting coould be made from a backstory to Dick Grayson's parents. Make the audience fall in love with them so their eventual fates become so much more unfortunate. Doesn't matter (and, really, who the hell cares) if they're "from" Gotham?

And, also: Barbara "Batgirl" Gordon is Jim's neice. Perhaps show her being born...show why she is named after her aunt...show that Jim is named as her guardian should anything happen to the parents, etc. It can be done and it can be done in an interesting and intriguing way.

Personally, I'd like to see the Judson Caspian Reaper come into it.

First of all, SMALLVILLE was terrible. I suffered through every awful episode of it because my nephew was a fan and it was just unbearable. How it lasted ten seasons is beyond me.

Secondly: You're missing the point of GOTHAM entirely. If you find it to be "drek" etc. may I suggest you stop watching and do something more productive to do with that hour of your time.

That's the point. In fact, that was the plot of the last episode! Selina Kyle lives on the street and outright told Bruce that he wouldn't last if he lived on the street. Bruce only threw a punch for the first time two episodes ago.

Is this really your criticism of the show? That a thirteen-year-old pampered rich kid isn't built like a tank to beat the crap out of bullies and evildoers?

Yeah, i dont get the disdain for the show. I love the take of Bruce being a work in progress. The kid is justifiably damaged. Its going to be a long road for him to become the Bruce Wayne that we know, who is still emotionally damaged. Actually the only women that I dont like on the show are Barbara and now Montoya. Can you make a character look more desperate than Montoya.

You thought it was bad but you "suffered" through every single episode?I dont like Gotham but I'm not suffering through episodes.I think you are exagerating a little friend.Damn that must have been like the holocaust or slavery after nine seasons.
