For those curious, here is the Haechi form of Mark

    http://www.comicvine.com/haechi/4005-93551/

His first appearance had him taking an awkward subway ride with people pointing at his horn (and later blaming him for everything going wrong), when explosions happened and he ended up helping Sun Girl (Selah Burke) fight some Evolutionaries.

Since then (and after saving each other), he becomes her slave, shooting target and punching bag... I mean, the two are close.

    Also, Silhouette!

My favorite Asian characters in order
    Surge
    Nico Minoru
    Amadeus Cho
    Hazmat
    Kaluu

Would Immortal Weapons count? Those who were born in immortal cities?I've always considered my two favorites, Bride of the Nine Spiders and Fat Cobra, to be Asian, but I don't know if their nationality has been ever specified.

Love Shang-Chi, especially the Moench/Gulacy/Zeck run. That was just phenomenal. Also loved his appearances in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu which I'm still trying to get a complete run of.

If you remember that stuff I'm guessing you remember Gene Day as well?

And yeah, Deadly Hands...it's shows up but it's always more money than I'm willing to spend. Same thing with the Savage Hands Tresurary Edition

I'm like I want these comics, but I'm not spending 60 buck for 'em!

About the lack of asian men in the marvel u, I kind of see what you mean. I wonder if it's part of the emasculating of asian men culture that pops up in the west plus the sexualisation of Asian women (although not all asian women in the MU are sexualised)

Really? Fasinating. Here in Australia its predominantly China through to Indonesia but some people remember India is part of Asia as well.

Yep - for the Area you describe, it's usually "East Asian" or "Oriental" - As I mentioned before, I suspect it's because we've had more immigration from South Asia than East Asia due to historic commonwealth links (my grandparents\parents & wife included ). You guys probably think of East Asia as it's far closer geographically. Of course, if you think about it, most of Russia & all those ex-Soviet states are also Asian, though, strangely, few of us in Western nations think of them as such - Asia is a very big place.

Yeah, that threw me off for the year or so that I lived in England (well, not the whole year, but just the first few times I heard it).

Anyway, Nico is my pick -- damn shame her and Alex never got the chance to make it work.

Does anyone else remember Meanstreak, from X Men 2099? Always liked him...and yes, this thread really points out the incredibly small pool of Asian characters in the Marvel U.

    1. Jubilee
    2. Sister Grimm
    3. Omega Sentinel
    4. Amadeus Cho
    5. Silk
    6. Lady Deathstrike
    7. White Fox
    8. Whiz Kid
    9. Honey Lemon
    10. Etc. Asian characters except Apex and Daken, really dislike those two.

I went ahead and included "Whiz Kid" as my "Other" although I am likin' "Silhouette," too, and "Hazmat" would get a vote from me if she was on the poll.
