Default When Did Agents of Shield get Good? (Show now on streaming)

Agents of Shield is now on Netflix streaming.

Watched the first couple of episodes - wasn't the biggest fan, then started watching when WINTER SOLDIER storyline would kick in. Found the show has turned around.

Is this a consensus wishful thinking on my part?

The big uptick started with the "Turn Turn Turn" episode last season, when the Winter Soldier events hit Coulson's team.

Of course, knowledge of the previous episodes is pretty necessary to appreciate what happened next.

The first episode with Bill Paxton. Forget the title, but it's a couple before the one Andrew mentioned.

    Your opinion is noted.

    Quite a few don't agree.

The first half of season 1 was a snooze fest. then the second half with all the plot twists it started getting good. Now this season is REALLY good. I'm glad that I'm one of the few people who stuck with it and kept watching every week

It really got good after the WS movie. But I liked it very much before that. The earlier episodes help set the stage and establish the characters that make the later shows work.
And this year has just been great.

It is basically agreed that the first half of the series wasn't as good as the second half. I always recommend starting with episode 14 if you tried the earlier episodes and did not care much for them as that episode gives you key plot lines that you should know going into the latter part of the season. Plus the following episode is the one with Lady Sif which was fun.

The second season has been brilliant.

It's probably my favorite comic related series on TV.

Many people point to FZZT. Personally, I thought TRACKS from then on was the start of them being consistent.

I liked it once they started adding in the Girl with the Flora Dress and some more info on TAHITI and Sif but yeah, once they tied it altogether after Winter Soldier it was a lot better. The beginning was all build up but also too clunky and uneven trying to be so quirky, the style was better by the time they gave us the payoff.

Plus they added in the dashing Tripp and made the boring Grant into one of the more interesting characters.

I'd also add that sometimes mystery can be more interesting than the answers (witness Lost and X-Files) but either because the mysteries were sort of frustrating or not as interesting, the answers to Coulsons new life and how that tied into Deathlok and Centipede were pretty satisfying.

I'm a "FZZT" fan. I think that's where the whole thing started to get traction, but it definitely took a notable up-tick beginning with "Turn, Turn, Turn".
