They actually did offer her the role back in 1997, but she thought the role as scripted wasn't worth her time and declined.

Angela... maybe 20 years ago. I've loved her since I was a little kid (saw "Boyz" in the theater; both The Jacksons and What's Love were roughly the same time as XM:TAS) but by the time of Waiting to Exhale it didn't seem like a superhero movie would be a good or likely choice for her, especially not the way the X-Men movies actually ended up.

I would have gone with Halle, even though in retrospect both the role and her acting were pretty awful. If they ever recast, I'm hoping they go with an actual African, or at least a dark skinned woman.

She was right to do that. That's why I voted for RuPaul. She can do campy and majestic, and that's the only thing that could have saved that script. But they chose Halle Berry, probably because she was bankable at the time.

Yes! RuPaul is fabulous and can envision Ororo's campiness and goddess presence without even trying! I refuse to acknowledge the homophobic and sexist comments in this thread that try to deter her talent!

This thread is to post future wishes, casting dreams on who can play Storm. Not just the future though, say if someone want to post something about Storm who could play Storm in X1 they could. I know a lot of people Love Lupita Nyong'o and feel like Halle was not giving Storm justice they wanted her to give.Post Storm fans
