Default Rank the runs on WW

Azzerello and Chiang have just completed their run. I wanted to ask how others think their run holds up against other notable runs on WW.

    Azzerello and Chiang 2011-2014

    JMS 2010-2011 "Odyssey"

    Gail Simone's 2008-2010 run

Jodi Picoult's post Infinite Crisis run WW

    Greg Rucka's WW run 2003 - 2006

John Byrne's WW run in the 90's

George Perez WW run in the late 80's to 90's

and anyother authors I have not listed

I voted "Other," because Phil Jimenez's run wasn't listed.

Loved Phil's run. He brought everything Perez brought to the character of Wonder Woman, and improved the one area of Perez's run that I didn't love. I loved Perez's run, but his Diana was so painfully naïve and clueless about things, it's sometimes hard to read. Jimenez fixed that by writing Diana as more mature and wise to the ways of the world.

Yes, I fully understand that Perez's Diana had just arrived in Man's World, whereas Jimenez Diana had been here for years. And that's really my point. Jimenez wrote Perez's Diana......all grown up and fully matured into her role.

The Jimenez run also had one of the single greatest Wonder Woman stories ever written. I forget the title, but that story where Circe turned all the male heroes into animals and Diana rallied all the female heroes behind her and led them into battle to rescue their menfolk was just AWESOME. Seeing Diana become the leader who pretty much singlehandedly saved the day was fantastic to read. We need more stories like that one these days.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Ditto. Not listing Jimenez's run is a crime worthy of eternity in Tartarus.

    X. Azzarello does not count as a sincere attempt to interpret the character.

I'm always kinda curious why so many ppl throw in Chiang in Azz's run as if he was a co-writer every issue or something? Dude drew like 3/5 of the issues? I love the guy, really do, but it's Azzarello's run...
Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. -- Grant Morrison, 2008

I wish I could edit my poll. When I was crafting it I was originally going to call it best recent WW runs. Only went with the writers i knew off the top of my head. Bummer.

Would have gone with Marston's but since it wasn't available I went with Azz. Crap like JMS's run probably shouldn't even be considered
