All Avengers Appreciation

I love Aaron's portrayal of T'Challa -- The "because he's the Black Panther" tag line threw me off at first but now i dig it; took the common batman rib ("because i'm Batman!") and flipped it to where everyone says it to T'Challa.

I like the addition of all the new/returning factions. Squadron Supreme, Winter Guard, Namor's crew, T'Challa's International Squad. I don't care much for the Agents of Wakanda, outside of like Wasp and Okoye, but we'll see where that goes. Overall, having those factions and bringing in characters like Blade and noting the vampire resurgence gives some nice world-building.

That said, I'm not impressed with his characterization of the other Avengers. They're not all bad but some just range from cut & paste'ish (Tony/Robbie is essentially MCU Tony/Peter) to just plain lazy (Thor/She-Hulk).

No, but I do believe they think IDW doing their all-ages Marvel comics (at least the out-of-continuity ones) is more effective then having Marvel doing it themselves.

I just received the 3 volumes of Uncanny Avengers today, and I’m thinking of doing a reread of all the Avengers books from the Hickman era on up.

The first five issues of Uncanny Avengers happen before the Hickman issues. Then read the Hickman issues up through Infinity. After Infinity read Uncanny Avengers #6-22.
