Now I'm just wondering how the Turtles are gonna work considering what Leo said. Are they gonna each be their own character, or are they gonna be "Tri-borg" style where each one is a stance... Best part about this episode. It's confirmed that Yang didn't go back on her character development from the last season. She was just going to use Raven as a taxi.

My hope is that Goku (after once again tapping into Ultra Instinct), manages to stalemate Jiren, until the time is up (since the Pride Troopers, have at best three dudes left) and Goku's team win by virtue of having the most dudes left. Originally Posted by master of read
It can save face for Jiren, since it can easily carry the implication that Goku wouldn't have been able to flat out beat. It can finish the arc, without having to have, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo jobbed out. They can even have Kefla come out of it looking strong, if she lasts towards the end.
I'm not sure they will go down that route, but I can't think of any other reason for the time limit rule to be there.
