Travers and her estate after she died said no to it for almost 50 years, so it's a surprising reversal
Didn't they make a "Documentary" about how much effort they put into making it perfect to her vision and how much she loved it a while back?
I remember seeing a like 10 minute trailer for it that was basically "here's all the important parts of the movie except the end, and you know how that turned out because Mary Poppins totally got released".
EDIT: Wikipedia and Google say the film I was thinking of is Saving Mr. Banks. And yes it was bit of revisionist history.

The MunchKING is Back! And he is AWSOME!
To be honest it's hard for me to have much sympathy for Travers, considering how self centered and manipulative she was by most accounts.
It was very Disneyfied, and at the same time it showed Walt smoking and being a hard businessman which Disney's tried to hide for a long time
But no Travers was very public in that she hated the animation, the songs, and Andrews was too pretty for Poppins basically
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

Several hours ago, my wife's test results came back. She appears to be in remission.
Thank you to everyone who reached out to me privately, and for the words of encouragement in general.
The Arbiter household is in a much happier place now. ♡
