And as for the twist...Eh, it's completely fine within the context of the game and makes sense given where it's inevitably gonna go.

Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence.

I will ONLY be okay with it, if he doesn't end up killing all the Gods. Only then.

Otherwise it's just a prettier looking "exact same shit as the last one".
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

    I also don't think it's silly.

He's the son of Kratos, he's going to be someone of consequence and it's very easy to dovetail the GoW narrative into that character's backstory.

Well, Ragnarok being what it is will make that hard to avoid, but at the same time...Kratos is no longer writhing with vengeance nor a seeker of conflict, so I don't think anythingw really set in stone yet.

Not to mention it's also a good way to set Kratos up against the Norse pantheon since spoilers:
his deceased wife and his son are members of the race of the gods' hated enemies.
    end of spoilers

Was there a particular reason Bege wanted to kill Big Mom?

partly because he enjoys taking down large organizations and partly because she's one of the biggest rivals in his and luffy's quest to be the pirate king. similar to why a lot of the worst gen are teaming up to take down one of the yonkou.

chiffon maybe had a influence on the plan but one can't really say for or against. she doesn't particularly hate her mom. she just doesn't really like her very much either.

i don't think it's so much that faye and artreus were/are hated because they were spoilers:
giants but it might be more over to do with the fact that they killed thor's sons and balder. remember that odin only killed the giants because he was a paranoid dick to them in the first place. they sided with no one during the great war but odin still attacked them because "paranoid dick". like he told his son, there are consequences for killing gods.
    end of spoilers

but yeah, i have no problem with this revelation. atreus was shown to someone special, even as far as demi-gods go. and i like how kratos learned from his bloody past as a angry dick and tried to keep it from his son, fearing he would fall down that same path. kind of reminds me of vegeta in a way.

Taking out a Yonkou isn't enough of a reason?

Just seemed like a really big risk considering how quickly he managed to work his way up Big Mom's organization. He's have had a bright future and access to enormous resources to build a power base. Bege never struck me as one aiming to become Pirate King.

like i said, bege just enjoys taking down larger organizations, just to see the chaos that comes from it. it's how he was back in his home blue.

also, as kidd said years back, if you ain't at least trying to be pirate king, you likely won't survive long in the new world.

He admitted it was a huge risk but, like he said, he felt this was the best shot he'd have and, originally, he was intending on poisoning her.

that's what makes the worst generation so damn dangerous: they are ambitious and crazy enough to try to take down the yonkou. a lot of pirates who go into the new world either die or run screaming back to paradise. not these guys. they are all gunning for that spot of pirate king or at the very least, take down a yonkou to replace them.
