Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

Well, Sony recently stated that their Marvel movie universe and MCU are one and the same, so Venom will inevitably end up in a Spiderman movie or vice versa. So, they may have the symbiote temporarily merge with Spidey in a movie, then return to Eddie so that he can receive his powers.
Actually, with the webbing seen in the beginning of the trailer, maybe the symbiote did get in contact with Peter.

Honestly, I don't mind.
Peter is younger than he was when he ran up against Venom in the original comic. Give it time.
