For you, what writers and/or artists are must buys? Regardless what the book is you see these guys name you buy without much if no second thoughts?

    For me.....
    Jason Arron
    Ed Brubaker
    Cullen Bunn
    Rick Remender
    Phil Brooks

Scott Synder is on my list but Im only reading most of his stuff in TPB and 1 title at a time.

Kieron Gillen, Fabian Nicieza and Jeff Parker are the only writers I "must buy" (IF it's for 616 Marvel).

Pat Mills if he's working with Simon Davis
John Ostrander and Jan Duursema (Hey Marvel, hire them for a Star Wars comic please...)

For me, it's more about the characters now than the creative team, but there has to be great art and decent characterization for me to buy.

You should give The Wicked + The Divine a look if you haven't yet. It's a very interesting book, and the first tpb just came out at the usual Image starter price ($9.99US). I prefer Gillen and McKelvie's Phonogram, but this is itching that scratch while they prepare The Immaterial Girl.

It's never been a must buy...I mean, if they work on a book with the right characters, I might become a must buy, but it's always artists:

    Olivier Coipel
    Stuart Immonen
    Kev Walker
    Adam Warren
    Valerio Schiti
    Frank Cho
    Jerome Opena
    Ryan Ottley
    Charlie Adlard

Should I get both? I was intending to get both at some point, because I adore that creative team (and I'll actually break my "only Marvel" rule for them).

    Writers:

    Alan Moore
Terry Moore (no relation, that I'm aware of)
Warren Ellis (he has low points, but they're really crazy so fun in that way)
    Brian K. Vaughan
    Neil Gaiman
    Kurt Busiek
    Mark Waid
    Peter David
Dan Slott (except Spider-Man for personal reasons, and I'm aware I'm missing out)
    Matt Wagner
Grant Morrison (see Warren Ellis, though crazy in a different direction)
    Christopher Priest
    Keith Giffen

    Artists:

    Art Adams
    Barry Windsor-Smith
    MW Kaluta
    Charles Vess
    Bruce Timm
    Kevin Maguire
    George Perez
    Paul Smith

Probably quite a few more I'd kick myself for forgetting if I hadn't forgot, and thank you MRP for some ones that didn't spring to mind immediately.

I don't really have anyone, I rather have writer and artists that I avoid like Greg Land, Jeph Loeb or Daniel Way.
