Post How do you feel about Meredith Finch and David Finch taking over Wonder Woman duties in a few months

Looks like Brian and Cliff's acclaimed run is almost at an end. The new creative team comes in the form of husband and wife Mr and Mrs Finch. I think the only time I saw husband and wife work together on a comic book was Walter and Louise Simonson from a long time ago.

What do you guys think about the Finches taking over the writing and art duties in WW?

At this point, it's just a rumor that the Finchs are taking over the book. Once it's confirmed by DC and we hear a little bit about their plans for the book, I'll be in a better position to comment on it.

When JMS was on the book I thought that things couldn't get any worse than his run was. Turns out, they could.

At least I will be buying an issue or two after Azzarello is gone. DC is going to have to make many changes if it hopes to keep me interested at this point.

Cautiously optimistic, it's awesome that Wonder Woman is getting a female writer, not so awesome that said female writer only has one comic book written and is pretty much untested.

IDK what to expect but I'm choosing to stay positive until I read it.

It's not the team we need or the one we deserve. I have a morbid curiosity so I will check out.

Do you have any proof of this other than Rich Johnston's claims?

The thought distresses me, but I refuse to feel any anxiety until it's confirmed, and, in the meantime, I'll just hope it's not true.

I thought this was still a rumour?

If its true then I'll give them a fair shot. I'll give nearly any creative team a fair shot even if I've disliked their work in the past.

It is still a rumour, but a probable one by now.

It's a moot point for me anyway. I have absolutely zero confidence in this creative team, but since I only buy trades and hardcovers, they will be into their second year by the time I get to shell out coin, and it should be very clear by then if it's any good or not.

Actually, I predict they won't even last that long, if it is them.

David Finch's art can vacillate between "Very Good" and "Very Bad," so I wouldn't say I'm perfectly happy about his taking over on art. If he brings his "A" game? I'll have no complaints at all.

    Time will tell.

Meredith Finch as writer? I have no idea what to expect. I've never read anything she's written, so I'm not sure what to expect. I do think it'll be good to see a woman writing Wonder Woman, so I'm choosing to remain cautiously optimistic on this one.

    Once again? Time will tell.

One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Your thoughts here echo mine almost to a "T". I hope David brings his "A" game and Merdith does a lot of research on Wonder Woman(all eras) before she starts writing the book.

That would probably be because the only thing she's ever written professionally is Zenescope’s Tales From Oz #2.

    She's not a writer, she's Finch's agent (and wife).

    Yeah, I'm aware of that.

Which is why I can't say one way or the other how good or bad I expect her writing to be.

Nonetheless, saying "She's not a writer" is a little unfair. One only needs to write to be considered a "writer." And just about anyone can write words on paper. The only sticky point is whether or not her writing will actually be good. If it is? Then I don't really care that she didn't go to writing school or didn't get her "writer cred" before she took on this job.

I have written a great deal in my life, but would not under any circumstance call myself a writer. I also would not call Rob Liefeld or Greg Land artists.

I suppose she's techically a writer, with one published work. Which nobody seems to have read, making it really hard to gauge her level of skill.
