its funny how some of these commenters are no where to be found, until a Frank Miller topic comes up, and they show up in droves to bash him, and why not lets Bash the top writer in comics Scott Snyder too, (too many words in his comic!, blah blah)
WHere are you in the 50 other Bat threads?
I did not know of Frank Millers current condition.
Based on there being... contributors? How does any bat-comic post Detective 27 seem like anything but Batman fanfic, then?
The other bat-titles aren't writing sequential stories about old characters, mining old issues, with talent who've done Batman before.
Patsy Walker on TV! Patsy Walker in new comics! Patsy Walker in your brain! And Jessica Jones is the new Nancy! (Oh, and read the Comics Cube.)
Frank Miller is dying, and it's a shame he's treated as the anti-christ these days despite being the most influential post-Bronze Age writer alongside Moore. My guess is he's trying to get one last project in before he passes.
This is really bittersweet. Sweet that could get to see frank Miller's final Dark knight story but bitter & sad because frank letting go of sole authorship of the DK series, something he has said he'd never do means it's over.
Whatever people may think of the stylistic shift in Frank's work over the years or his political views he has done more with comic book storytelling than most. While the story content of miller's work has become thinner over the years he uses the form to create a visceral experience for the reader like no one else has. He never compromised his artistic vision to fit in with the crowd.
Maybe Jim lee will draw the finished scripts Miller has left for the ASBAR series.
