Default Displaying or framing Silver/Gold Age comics?

    hey guys,

Just reaching out to the community to ask about displaying older (and potentially high $$) Silver and Gold Age books?

I've recently gotten back into collecting and I've been picking up some Silver age titles with covers I love. That has lead me down the slippery slope to admire Golden Age books like Batman, Superman, and Timely comics. I love all the WW2 covers. What great art and history!

Anyway, I'm looking for the best way to display these books. I'd like to use a "float frame" where the book is sandwiched between two pieces of glass. I'd use archival, acid free glass for this. This would give me a nice, clean look. I'd probably only display 4-8 books. They will be displayed in a finished basement home theater that stays 66 degrees year round. NO outside light from windows, only can lights in ceiling.

All the frames that are made to do this that I've found online are cheap looking to me. I'd have them custom made.

I've heard that these older books should have NO exposure to light? They shouldn't be sandwiched between two panes of glass? How is this different then "bagged/boarded"...?

Another option is to have a high quality photo copy made of just the cover and frame that?

    thanks in advance!

    No ideas?

Is this not a good forum for Silver and Gold age collectors?

Please direct me to a forum (or area of this community) that could help me with displaying high end books.

Maybe nobody displays comics on their walls?

    thanks!!

Light, even indoor light, fades colors too much for me to consider this with anything rare. It's really better to display poster art or repros.

Then again, though, I do display my original art on the wall, knowing that this might yellow it, so if you don't mind the damage go ahead. To each his own.
