This may be a dumb question but has Carol ever had any encounters with Deadpool? Wouldn't it be...interesting if Carol became Deadpool's current crush?

I just read The Life of Captain Marvel #2. This story continued to exceed my expectations and raise the bar. If you're at all a Carol Danvers fan, this is another must-have.

Loved the second issue too! It definetely managed to keep up with the first one imo. I was worried it would start focusing too much on the alien thing her dad had, but I guess they're gonna left that more to the end, which is a good choice I think. The new villain(?) still had me intrigued though.
I agree, this has been great so far. The new villain is interesting in execution even if she looks a bit like movie Mystique design-wise. The character moments were great.
I've been slowly catching up on Stohl's work with the character. I think the story suffered from some pretty poor story ideas to start with, but I felt her character work was strong. Secret Empire disrupted that a bit. I haven't gotten to the Legacy stuff. I think for people who didn't like her work, this will hopefully win them over, but I do think there are some good moments in that first arc that are worth recommending.

Android's possible. I took it as some kind of universal translator.

Neither android nor gynoid. In the first issue it was show how she was conceived and educated in vitro. Like in the Superman original movie, but with accelerated grow. She already was educated when her matrix ship crashed

So far these last two issues have been so much better than the entirety of Stohl's last run.
As a fan of both Carol and Jessica and Avengers Annual 10 - not sure how I feel about this. (actually I DO but I'm keeping my thoughts to myself.)

That is incredibly reassuring to hear.

Just read issue 2 of the Captain Marvel mini...why didn't Stohl wrote Carol like this in her previous run? This issue was as good as the first issue.
Most likely a combination of:
1 - More experience with the character and with comics(Mighty CM was her first comic series).
2 - It's easier for her to write stories with this kind of tone on this kind of setting rather than cosmic ones on space.
3 - No events or other books derailing the story.
I also find the art, especially the coloring, much better than the previous one, which helps.
The X-Books Board is wretched and does not deserve the Domino Appreciation Thread.
Generally, it makes changes here and there to make things flow more smoothly and to often create an ongoing story arc. A lot of Silver Age X-Men had aliens in it, Grand Design brought them together with an overarching theme of trying to prevent the Phoenix Force from reaching Earth. It was also done to explain why there are two completely unrelated Eric the Reds. Some other changes were just because the author thought the original was pretty distasteful - for example, when Professor X fakes his own death, the Grand Design version has him tell all his students first.
Without having read this, the only explanation I would have is that it might have been to create an ongoing story arc. Otherwise, I don't see any significant reason for the change. I've agreed with the changes for the most part, but I don't know if I'll agree with this one without more. I think the part of her being thrown off the Golden Gate Bridge is iconic enough that it shouldn't have been changed.
