Isn't this the same outlet that called Rhodey "War Hammer" in the Civil War promo article/s?

I think they're usually on the money but I don't think they have the background with the source material to always get their facts right with the superhero stuff.

Weird, even knowing they were confirmed, it doesn't look real in a way lol. She looks so good though. Longer hair and a bit more makeup.

I guess it looks a little weird because she is just standing still haha These photos are probably for some toy or collectible company. The person who leaked thought they would get into less trouble if they pixelated the images, but that’s not true lol

And yes, she looks amazing in this pictures

I love how they're using the cartoon costumes and it visually looks 10x better then Avengers Assemble .

So, apparently, as expected, Stohl is out after Life of Captain Marvel, and Kelly Thompson will write an on going Captain Marvel run illustrated by Carmen Carnero. Thompson already wrote Captain Marvel & the Carol Corps with Kelly Sue DeConnick, which was actually her debut, so I’m expecting good things.

I read the news on this tweet: https://twitter.com/captmarvelnews/s...951915522?s=21

And now the NY Times article: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/02/a...ic-series.html

Here's the original source, with more info: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/02/a...ic-series.html

This is a really good decision. Kelly is probably Marvel's biggest female writer right now, and she has consistently put out good work for the publisher. I can see why she would be their choice for the character they're trying to push as their biggest female hero. I'm excited for this!

Yep. Marvel has finally given Carol an A list writer after DeConnick. I think that this was the right move. I thought Stohl’s work was okay, but definitely wasn’t living it up to the character’s full potential.

Given that Stohl is bringing her A Game, I have mixed feelings about her leaving. That being said, I only read her book in trade or on Unlimited, so I wasn't helping the sales. I'm 50/50 whether I'll be back to reading the book monthly. If I do, it'll mean I'll have three books by Thompson, which I guess would make me far and away my most read author on my pull list.

    omg KELLY is BLOWING. UP.
I am so happy for her but also SO sympathetic to how MASSIVELY busy she must be. Good grief. I cannot fathom being her right now. Its amazing -- UTTERLY -- but still, SO much stuff. Mama needs a serving platter to replace her plate because it runneth over.

I just do not know how these folks do what they do -- and at such a high quality level. Its astounding.
THAT BEING SAID -- I look forward to rejoining the Carol Corps, upon Miss Thompson's arrival.

EDIT: Upon reading the article (thank you DoV) I am even MORE excited about Kelly helming this. Firstly -- yay for Earthbound narratives and double yay for Best friend Jess and Ooooooooh romance with a KNOWN Marvelite??? Who who who, I wonder?

I've really been enjoying Stohl's run on The Life of Captain Marvel. She has really raised the bar and I'll be sad to see her leave, but I think she's walking away on a high note. And of all the writers to write Captain Marvel, I think Kelly Thompson is the best possible choice. After what she did for Rogue and Gambit, I think she'll do Carol justice.
