Elektra Appreciation: Lady in Red

I'd love to see Kris Anka's take on her look. I think he'd nail the design perfectly.

Anka sketched some ideas for an Elektra redesign awhile back. Given the timing, its not quite in step with the current movement/trend of redesign of female characters (pants) and certainly not influenced by the Netflix look.

I believe this is the "witchy" depiction of Elektra by Anka that was mentioned. I don't mind that hard features and honestly, Elodie Yung shares more in common with those hard features than Elektra drawn by some other artists.

I'm becoming obsessed with potential Elektra re-designs....I'm thinking some retooling is inevitable post-Netflix.

The first one, by Michael Lee Lunsford, is pretty close in concept to the Netflix suit. Works for me.

Most of those are pretty bad. The one you posted is pretty good but is still kind of basic. I'm not a fan of the baggy pants either.

So I just saw that Comixology added Elektras Marvel Knights run from 2001-2004. What are your opinions on it? Worth checking out?
I dislike that there are no trades for it though and that I have to buy all the single issues instead but if it's good it won't matter. Also was #32 really the last issue of that run? It's labeled as Fever Part 1 which implies that there has to be more but there isn't.

Going back to that series, I actually like Bendis's run as well as most of Rucka's (and really, uneven art towards the end is what makes it though to read). After that it's pretty ho hum, with an over reliance on a narrative style that becomes tedious after a couple of issues.

And you're right, they're missing three issues for some reason; the last two parts of the fever arc, and the final issue.

Are the 90s Elektra comics drawn by Mike Deodato any good? I like his art style but I'd only read it if the story was good.
