Wahoo! The #SuperMarioMovie is moving from April 7 to April 5 in the US and in more than 60 markets around the world. The movie hits theaters in additional markets in April and May, with Japan opening April 28.

I find it interesting that it seems like the Rainbow Road scene seems close to the climax but we haven't seen any scenes with Mario and Bowser together.

If this movie is a hit I'm assuming Illumination is going to continue working with Nintendo. Wonder if we'll see promos like this for a DKC movie. (Or will they expand beyond the Mario-verse and make movies based on other Nintendo IP. Maybe an animated Zelda?)

I think DKC is probably reasonable to assume is next considering all the work they put into it in this film.

Zelda might be a likely next option given how popular the property is and it's been close to getting movies (or animated series on Netflix) before.

I mean, they were developing a cartoon (or movie? I forget) for Netflix where I would assume Link would've talked, so I think it's possible. Or maybe they'll figure a workaround.

I also imagine they'd have a Zelda who is like how Peach is being depicted here too.

I would actually prefer if a Zelda adaptation kept Link a mute. It would force the people behind it to get creative.

Nintendo was perfectly fine giving Link lines when they adapted Link to the Past to comic form.
