The Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibit in NYC is open now. I just checked if tickets were available to purchase and, yes, they are.

CATFA was on last night and I was surprised at how much I've forgotten in that movie (such as the commandos at the meeting table etc.) I never get tired of saying how terrific Evans is in the role.

First Avenger was among my favorite Phase 1 MCU films. Not only was it an excellent period piece, but it gave us a believable and dead-on Steve Rogers. The moment he answered to Erskine about wanting to kill Nazis, I was saying in my head "Yes. This is perfect. This is Captain America," and it only got better from there.

I liked Chris Evans from the start, I thought he was of the few positives about the Fantastic Four movies, but his Cap was on another level.

Agree 100%...Evans Cap is on another level. Which is why I can't wait for another comic writer to take on Steve (after this whole aging business ends anyway.)

Frank Miller talks about why he'd write Captain America if he were to work at Marvel again.

I'd give his Cap a go.

If it was pre-crazy Miller, I'd give it a go.

Yes, I thought that Miller's portrayal of Cap during Born Again was great. But his writing, art style, and mental state have all taken a giant plunge off a cliff in recent years. He's become a parody of himself.

I liked the movie, but I also had issues with it. I didn't like the second half of the movie nearly as much as the first. Reducing Cap's years of combat in WWII to one five minute montage simply because you needed to get him frozen to set up Avengers was very disappointing. I kept thinking "this all looks very interesting, too bad we didn't get to actually SEE any of it." Also, I thought that HOW he ended up in the ice was really contrived, it didn't really work. Still, it's an enjoyable movie with a great tone, good performances, and some good action. It just wasn't as good as it could have been. TWS, on the other hand, that film was freaking fantastic.

Is Cap the one costume hero that J Jonah Jameson respects?

Are you going to go? Or did you already? If so, how was it? Awesome? I hope so.

I agree, the whole movies was top notch, IMO. I really liked Cap's "ice" scene, the chemistry between Chris and Hayley was quite good. Even knowing what would happen I was still touched by their interaction between each other in that scene.

Agreed. It brought a lot of emotion to the film, more than most of the other MCU movies.

I agree that the lack of actual WWII action was dissapointing, though I understand that the filmmakers probably didn't want the film to drag on.

Not yet. I've got two huge bills/things that have to be taken care of first. I'm hoping to go in early July if both are nipped in the bud.
