Overall the Waid is competing for me with the Brubaker (yes, they're that good), the depiction of Sharon is different in an eminently provocative way...if you are a fan of Captain America, I can almost guarantee you'll love these books.
I also read the first two volumes of Brubaker's final Cap run (post-Reborn) and, while not exactly Waid level, are very good and more than worth checking out. They only pale next to the GODLY early to mid Bru era, but then very little doesn't pale in comparison to that, right?
