I agree kill off peter bring in miles morales. Why? Because I have 8 copies of his first appearance I'd like to cash in on.

I'll admit that I loathe Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. His Peter Parker is not THE Peter Parker that I grew up reading. I related to the comic book Peter/Spidey AND to Raimi's/Maguire's Peter/Spidey.
The other problem is this whole back story involving Peter's parents. I don't care about that stuff. Let's have a good ol' Spidey story not this ever-running mystery that's going to run through God-knows how many movies. It's obvious Sony doesn't have a clue.
The one thing I find laughable is that Sony thinks the Amazing Spider-Man movies have done poorly but each movie has still brought in half a billion dollars worldwide for them. Not too bad of a haul, IMO. But, yeah, folding Spidey into the MCU would net Sony (and Marvel) even more $$!!
there's no excuse not to explore the Miles Morales story, but too many people are so monomaniacally against it. If Peter Parker is to continue, then the studio(s) might as well get Mr. Garfield for as long as he's willing to be a part of it. Having yet another "exhausting search" for a "perfect Peter" after just two films is ridiculous.
I was just thinking about this the other day. When I was a kid, I loved the Spider-Man cartoons but there was a period when I watched it that the Green Goblin was the villain almost every week. As a kid, I wanted to see a bunch of other villains instead of the same one over and over again.
Then I grow up, there's five Spider-Man films and three of them have the Green Goblin in them. Both my young and old selves think Sony has dropped the ball on the villains in this franchise. Even so, the Raimi trilogy was "my" Spider-Man trilogy (the same way everyone has "their" Doctor in Doctor Who) and the ASM series does absolutely nothing for me.
I think Garfield is getting a bit too old to make him a viable option if Marvel were to make their own Spider-Man films. Much as I like him (and think Marvel would want someone new anyway) I just don't think it would work. I don't want a kid Spider-Man, but someone younger needs to be there to make it work. I think Miles Morales in the MCU would fit perfectly with the universe that they've established so far. If anything bring Garfield in for a Death of Peter Parker moment to set up Miles and you're good to roll.
Yeah. Space opera for Guardians, Earth opera for Avengers, and soap opera for Fantastic Four, X-Men - at times - and definitely Spider-Man.
Yeah, would love that. A new, serious Batman show live action, new Superman show, outside of Krypton, or Smallville/Supergirl.
And, would love seeing Spidey week to week, villains, loves, jobs, Peter and all.
And, Miguel, Miles, Ben, Kaine, as well as other versions of Peter, like Noir, Manga, or MC2, await, outside the usual.
I think they're gonna give it one more go over at Sony before they just say screw it and give the rights back over to Marvel
Is the rumor about Sony firing Andrew Garfield true?
I like how a movie can make 700 million dollars and can be considered a failure by the company that produced it.

Sony just does not know what to do with the property. The suits always want to cram more and more into each film instead of just having one good villain in a movie they always want more. It ruined the last Rami film by forcing him to use Venom, and Rhino was not needed at all in ASM 2. Hell the Green Goblin was not needed in ASM 2 at all either and they should have just teased us with Harry taking the serum but not going full on Goblin until ASM 3, but Sony is just so blind and wanted to get their Sinister Six set up they bulldozed Webb into cramming all that into one movie.
Another big thing is that outside of a few all the Spider Man movies have just not gotten any of the villains even close to right. Doctor Octopus and the Lizard are the only two I think they really got. Green Goblins in SM1 and SM3 and ASM2 were all not good. Electro, Sandman, and Venom they got the powers part figured out and made them look cool on screen, but the characters themselves were paper thin. And then you have Rhino. Jesus .... that Rhino. The worst part of all 5 Spider Man movies combined. Even worse the emo dancing Pete in SM3.
The only way I think they are ever going to right their ship is if they get a good writer and a good director, and keep the suits as far away as possible, but I just don't see that happening at Sony.
Sony should keep Spider-Man. Why you ask? Because the actor Marvel wants to replace Garfield with is Drake Bell.
Good Marvel characters- Bring Them Back!!!
