Some variant covers for Astonishing X-men kiChjWt_d.jpgD6ibnse_d.jpg s6j6u4A_d.jpg
If Gambit were the strong silent type they could get away with that or like Drax intentionally looking a bit daft.
But Gambit is sofisticated, smooth, witty, slightly, menacing and charismatic. That is a rather more difficult thing to get to get right on screen. Going ro need someone to pull a rabbit out of the hat to get it just right.

Wonder why they droped bishop from the savage land variant
Also gambit doesn't look ancient on the first variant.
Cool... Why is the current version's bo made out of wood? Why would Gambit have used a wooden staff or anything that isn't collapsible? It kind of goes against the core of his character... By that I mean, a thief cannot very well walk around with a staff taller than himself and expect to be discreet.

Realistically speaking about fictional matters. | Nutcases need not respond. | Stay outta my DMs. | Why does the "House of Ideas" keep duplicating characters?! | If an idea or belief cannot stand up to criticism it's probably... bad.
Cable solo new arc for Legacy

"In this arc, Cable only knows that someone has leapt to the past and killed a mutant in New Orleans."
Soooo, any chances that it wasn`t Gambit killed in NOLA?
The mutant killed in New Orleans seems like Gambit to me.
Unless it's an AU Gambit, no. You can't just go around killing characters starring in other books, even if that other book is self contained. And before anyone says anything about Uncanny Avengers and Rogue, she was always going to come back at the end of that story, they just took her out of X-Men to avoid spoiling her survival and they never added her back.
