And we don't really even know the extent of the upgrade. I wonder if PAD and Asmus have had any chats about what it really is.

    Great idea Nopozyzy

    1. What is your favourite writer for Gambit?
Hmmmm... I am shocked how perfect I find Peter David's Gambit; like crazy perfect!

    2. Favourite artist for Gambit?
Clay Mann, draws the hottest men and Gambit is the hottest hero!

    3. Favourite Gambit series/mini-series?
I LOVED James Asmus' run; criminally underrated, it was brilliant.

    4. Favourite love interest?
    Rogue. No-one else comes close.

    5. Favourite Gambit villains?
    Mr Sinister, obvs!

    6. Favourite quote?
The scene after his trial where Rogue abandons him; that whole conversation was tragic gold.

    7. Favourite fight?
Gambit vs. Tombstone; just so much fun.

    8. Favourite alternate reality version of Gambit?
Age of X Gambit was brilliant (but not really 'alternate', technically)

    9. Favourite appearance outside of the comics for Gambit (cartoon/game/movie)?
Any-one who puts the Wolverine film is no true fan I loved playing Gambit in X-men: Legends; but my love of him (and X-characters) comes from X-men: the Animated Series

    10. Favourite team-ups?
Curse of the Mutant: Storm and Gambit. They are THE GREATEST best friend pairing. I'm sad she never guest-starred in Asmus' run.

    1. What is your favourite writer for Gambit?
Claremont, Asumus...it's still early days but got a good feeling about PAD (I want "dark and morally vague" Gambit to make a come back though!)

    2. Favourite artist for Gambit?
It's tied between Jim Lee & Andy Kubert...whenever I picture Gambit it's their art that immediately comes to mind

    3. Favorite Gambit series/mini-series?
Liked Asmus run as it made the character interesting and fun again. Issue #9 (Gambit gatecrashing Tombstone's club) was perfect and summed up everything that Gambit is about. The line about having a "90's flashback" was a nice joke.

    4. Favourite love interest?
Rogue when written well...hate what that dynamic turned into though. (for a renowned ladies man Gambit hasn't had too many love interests)

    5. Favourite Gambit villains?
Sadly Remy doesn't have any real nemesis' these days. Liked it when he had beef with Sinister and Sabertooth in the 90's

    6. Favourite quote?
    "Bang! You Dead!"

    7. Favourite fight?
Hard to choose, my favorites are:

Gambit vs Gladiator - Slamming the whole charged deck into his gut to KO him was awesome!
Gambit vs Skrull Starjammers - You don't see too much but it is implied that Gambit pretty much took out all of the Starjammers clones solo.
Gambit vs Wolverine (90's) - This was back in the day where Marvel would let Gambit have a few wins at Wolverines expense

    8. Favourite alternate reality version of Gambit?
    Age of Apocalypse

    9. Favourite appearance outside of the comics for Gambit (cartoon/game/movie)?
90's animated series...where I first got to know the character. Also loved Wolverine and the X-men appearances; "No I sold out my own kind for A LOT of money...there is a difference" That was perfect!

    10. Favourite team-ups?
Beast and Gambit under Claremonts pen...always felt they were written as buds and maybe with a little "big brother/little brother" dynamic thrown in.

Honestly, I'm not sure whether I want to be sad, happy or terrified. Maybe...just maybe... with the use of some very selective lighting, the head sock (to cover those giant ears of his) and a buttload of makeup, we can pretend that Channing Tatum actually looks like the Ragin' Cajun. :/

Not a Tatum fan either. However, he’s big news at the moment, which means we’ll be guaranteed a big role for Gambit. It's more than you can say for 80% of the other X-Men characters that were put on screen.

I do hope he’s in the Apocalypse movie though, rather than a solo.

    Ugh!

Tatum has such a limited range as an actor. While I'm sure he can bring physicality to the role (former dancer and all that jazz), everything else just feels wrong.

At the very least it confirms that they will try to make the most of the Character...you don't cast Tatumn for a bit part.
This could have a very positive impact on the character in the comics and could generate a little X-Factor buzz which I'm all for.

I think X-men Apocalypse will be his first film and potentially a solo if the character tests well. Singer already mentioned he was looking at bringing in Gambit and Nightcrawler.

I want to be optimistic about this but it just feels like more of Fox's hire-big-name-actor-think-about-the-character-later casting decisions (Vinnie jones anyone?)

I think he'll be fine as Gambit. He's not a great actor, but he's decent.

Tatum has the look for the role but I guess you'll have to sacrifice the accent and charm so a mixed bag
Tatum is at his best in comedy roles or non serious stuff so maybe he can make gambit work
