Thanks for including Thundarr, Princess Ariel, and Ookla. Unfortunately, the DC/HB deal didn't include these.

Weeks ago, talking to my friends of Multiverso DC website crew, I remembered the classic superheroes of Hanna-Barbera: Space Ghost, Birdman, Mightor, The Herculoids, Galaxy Trio, and many others.

Put them interacting at same universe never occurred in the TV cartoon shows from years 1960/1970 (which at the beginning of 1980 I saw on TV). However, a whole universe was explored by producers when some of the characters had a series of humor in Adult Swim, like Space Ghost - Coast to Coast and Harvey Birdman.

Justice League + humor = the unforgettable JL run writted by JM DeMatteis, Keith Giffen and illustrated uniquely by Kevin Maguire (I had the pleasure to know personally in my trip to New York ComicCon 2011). In the classic cover of # 1, Maguire showed the characters of the team being seenfrom above, and all characters looking at the reader, in an ironic way. It was then that I decided to do a double homage: to this cover and super-heroes of classic Hanna-Barbera.
And here is my Justice League Saturday morning : )

    Top: The Young Samson and his lion Goliath; Vapor Man, Gravity Girl e Meteor Man (from Galaxy Trio);Birdman an your eagle Avenger and Space Ghost, Tara, Igoo and Zandor, from Herculoids;

Down: Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, the dog wonder; Mightor

That was not my fan art, just linking too the awesome.
Thundarr was a Ruby-Spears Productions not Hanna Barbera, still people love to include them with the Hanna Barbera created Adventure Heroes.

The great Kirby designed concept is just so much it's own thing , personally I'd rather see them stand out and exist in their own universe rather than lumped in a HB specific Adventure Universe, which really had it's house style.

I think WB has in fact since acquired (= swallowed up) the rights to Thundarr though, and may have released the DVDs under their label, hence many might assume they go together with the Hanna Barbera acquired properties. They don't.

In the end Thundarr is another of those great licences WB and by extension DC is just siting on instead of producing something with it.
WB as Producer$ is such a huge behemoth, they have so many properties already in the pipeline this may mean nothing to them. it's probably near the bottom of things to develop in the huge pile they own.

There was a few crossovers, that establishing the "HB World of Super Adventure" was a shared universe. Space Ghost definitely visited the Herculoids planet, and I remember he and Mightor shared an episode. There may have been more, a reference in Galaxy Trio too?
Also the later Teen Force crossed over with Space Ghost, I think Jan and Kid Comet were linked.

You drew that, it's great! Awesome homage to both Maguire and HB/Toth.

Forgot about Jana. Not part of the HB Adventure Heroes block, but she was definitely HB.
It is interesting for Super Friends HB had already licensed the rights to Rima(or not she is public domain, but they developed their own version of her) the original "Jungle Girl" character, she predates Tarzan, etc.
And while little was said or developed about Rima on Super Friends, HB later pretty much gave Rima's look, somewhat background origin, location, and "quest" of a lost parent to Jana.
Mostly taken from Green Mansions the original Rima story, but they even took specific elements from DC's development of her.

In the end WB owning DC and HB, ended up owning them both DC's version Rima and the HB version Jana.
They really should just merge the two into one character.

You mean like the Looney Tunes variants? http://www.comicbookresources.com/ar...-variant-month

    Johny Quest / Grayson
    Herculoids / JL
    Rima(Jana) / Wonder Woman
Superfriends(that is Apache, Vulcan, Dorado, Samurai & Twins) / Young Justice, (use the YJ kid analogs of them)

    - HB Zoo wave:
    Huck Hound / Superman
    Yogi & Booboo / Batman & Robin
    Secret Squirrel / Detective comics
    Ricochet Rabbit / Flash
    Magilla Gorilla / Grodd
    Atom Ant /Atom
    Squidly Diddly / Aquaman
    Quickdraw / Jonah Hex
El Kabong / El Diablo (original)
    Peter Potamus / Rip Hunter
    Wally Gator / Swamp Thing

    - Scooby Doobies wave:
    Mystery Inc. / Detective Comics

Who is the girl in Blue with the Impossibles!?
Is this a new character designed by Darwyn Cooke?
Not sure what her powers will be, but that band always needed a drummer!

And yeah he was right that's what sold in the 90s and they've been doing it sense. This has become the fate of the HB characters in the DCU.
They are not subtle about it.

I never read this Wendy Marvin appearance in the Titans comic, only saw the one panel above. What was Wendy's fate? Does she survive, or is she mauled to death too?
Marvin has become one of the Ghostbusters dogs, LOL.

How about Swat Kats in the DC/HB actionverse?

All designed by Alex Toth no less.
In the end it's so much it's own thing, DC probably doesn't even know how to approach it.
