The current TV suit is pretty much my favorite live-action Flash look right now .

Interesting tidbit about the show. I read in the 1990 comic Tv special, the creators didn’t want to use Wally because he was such a jerk in the comics at that time. This was in the early stages of Wally before he matured. So they used Barry but gave him some Wally traits, like how he had to eat so much, using Tina MaGee instead of Iris, etc.

I loved the eating thing regardless of any lack of scientific basis or reality. I really hate, hate HATE anything that deals with 'Speed Force'. For me it will always be lightning + random chemicals = FLASH! The food intake and exhaustion was a great little 'weakness' for a power set that could EASILY become vastly overpowered.

That suit is still my all time favorite but John Wesley Shipp hated it! He said it was incredibly hot and heavy.

I don't doubt that one bit. It just LOOKS hot and heavy. I was never too keen on the padded up muscles or lack of yellow boots... but really, it was still an amazing interpretation that screams 'FLASH' and I'll take padded muscles over ARMOR?!!?! any day of the week!

if you watch the 1990s flash show closely, you'll see that every now and then, they'd do some tricks with the lighting to make it look like his boots are yellow. But that's the closest they've gotten. I think something about the yellow boots have been hard to translate to screen, and I think all of them look a bit off because of that.

I'm kind of surprised that the current TV suit, with all the yellow they've thrown in there, didn't try and go for the yellow boots or some variant of them.

Honestly that exactly what I was thinking, while the look is pretty much perfect, it would have been interesting to see the suit with some kind of yellow boots tbh.

As for the 1990s JWS look, while it was comic accurate, I think the bulkiness was the main thing that stopped me from liking the look at all. I think I prefer the JL Armor to be honest, not only because it took the New 52/Injustice elements and brought it to life but the fact that it tries to add a bit of real world science into his look.

I still wish we could've seen more of what Barry's Post-Crisis life after his return before the reboot happened, especially seeing his relationship with the Flash Family develop.
