Also could have been? From what I recall from the EU Obi wans reaction time feats were pretty absurd, absurd enough that I don't think any advantage Albus may or may not have had would really matter.

It depends on how the lightsaber's block-anythingness (very technical term) stacks up against magic. In the movies at least most spells have a physical beam of some kind, if they can be blocked by a lightsaber then Obi Wan would probably win, if they can't and he tries it (but fails) he'd potentially get hit through surprise. That said, if you go from the Matt Stover version of Obi Wan then he'd beat 99% of wizards in fiction I would think, he's pretty beastly.

no you misunderstand me..I'm not saying "Kenobi deflects spells and then rushes albus and beheads him" I'm saying "doesn't Ben from the EU gave enough crazy speed feats to suggest he just decapitates the old dood before he even realizes what's happened?"
