    Wonder Woman's Iconic Invisible Jet?

That can't be right? It's not like she ever has it in the comics.

They'll be describing her lasso as iconic next.

It still ceases to amaze me that Wonder Woman related news articles from CBR always get dumped into the general DCU forum boards while she has a perferctly serviceable board for herself, which is unlike Batman and Superman who get their news bits posted on the appropriate boards. It just baffles me.

Because people still think the Lynda Carter show is modern.

She was using the Invisible Jet in the comics long before the Lynda Carter show and just as recently as Superman/Wonder Woman #5.

Yep. "Iconic" fits Wondy's invisible jet to a T.

Pretty much anything that was in Superfriends is, for better or worse, Iconic thanks to pop cultural osmosis. The Invisible Jet is most certainly one of- as a child of the early '90s, I knew about it thanks to Cartoon Network bumpers long before I knew about even the lasso.

Yeah pretty much. I'm surprise some people don't think its iconic.

I know that. The general public doesn't, and they don't give a hoot because they never read the comics.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it any less iconic, though.

Several years ago, somebody made the BEST comment about The Invisible Plane: "Hey, look up there! There's a beautiful woman SQUATTING in the sky!!!!!!!"

In retrospect, she shouldn't have been able to be seen, either. That was a mistake, IMO. The plane, however, is still cool.

If anything about Wonder Woman is classifiable by "fossil" or "outdated" it's elements/characters from Greek myth that creators keep regurgitating into her stories. Those are centuries old where as the jet was created in the early 1940s. This isn't the first time that a toy has been made of the jet and plenty of my friends that don't read comics recognize the jet from the various media shows it's appeared in over the decades.

Exactly. Charles Soule used the jet very effectively in Superman/Wonder Woman #5. Zod and Faora couldn't see Wonder Woman and Superman approaching in it so the power-couple was able to take the villains by surprise upon their exit from the jet.
