It's a tough job.

Mainly due to lack of actual military experience in most cases. Sure, you can beat up entire gangs by yourself, but there is also the chance the lucky punk with a gun you didn't see could get you.

Lack of a shield hurts too.

Obviously, I'd enlist in the marines on a 7 year contract, go through recon training. Once that was done, then I'd get some gear, and it's time to fight crime!

I think they would get pushed to the same peak human level as cap it's just there would be less of an improvement if someone like usain bolt took it in comparison to the 98lbs steve rigers.
