The show's problem was that they would have a really great villain and a really bad one and they would always yank you away from the good villain to spend time with the bad one. Cottonmouth was a great villain, but here comes corny Diamondback. Bushmaster was cool but let's spend some more time with Black Mariah, Shades and Nightshade.

Despite not being the most powerful baddie in the MCU, I can actually understand why they spent so much time focusing on Black Mariah. Acting wise, I thought she gave the best performances on either season of Cage. Season 2 especially,

I cannot believe Netflix canceled this great show. I mean I haven't seen Season 2 yet...still I can't' believe it's canceled.

However I have hopes that SOMEONE at either Marvel and/or Disney would at least try to get this series and Iron Fist to continue as Heroes for Hire via the upcoming Disney Streaming service. I mean Netflix may have brought the show to us, but it was made via the Marvel banner and there is the rumors of the Disney Streaming service forcing Netflix to lose most of the Disney themed stuff by the next two years or so.


I just wish Bob Iger steps in and tries to heal the rift between Kevin Fiege and Ike Premutter and brings the MCU together with the Marvel television side. I want my mega crossover in the MCU, is that so wrong to ask ?

Its not wrong but not necessarily practical. Outside of tone the big issue is sorting out production costs/schedules/contracts.

It would have been easier if they knew which defender they wanted use so you could be given advance notice or tailor the contracts around that.

Ironically IF and Luke Cage being canceled makes using them in the movies a bit easier. They dont have competing schedules to sort out now. You could just introduce them in someone else's film to test the waters.

Down the line, if the net flixs shows get cancelled you could totally adapt Bendis New Avenger story into a movie that brings the Defenders into the MCU. And maybe Agents of SHIELD if they get cancelled.

That story had SHIELD agent Jessica Drew escorting Foggy, Matt, and hired body guard Luke into the raft when a jail break occurs. Swap Jessica Drew for Daisy (unless they want to introduce Spider-Woman), and maybe throw Danny in there if they want, and basically you have the Net Flixs guys in the MCU.

Spidey can still swing by to help out. Steve wouldn't be around, but they can swap her with Carol I guess.

Outside of the Movies Luke can pretty much be folded into another TV show. Good candidates would be JJ, Cloak and Dagger, Agents of SHIELD and maybe Punisher or DD. So he's got options.

He started off in Jessica Jones, so it would be pretty easy to fold him into that show.

i really don't see why some people are convinced that there should be a recasting of Cage for the movies. the TV shows never said explicitly that the movie stuff didn't exist.

Is anyone actually arguing that the TV shows are saying the movies don't exist? Because I think the Net Flixs show have someone mentioning the "incident" every 5 minutes. The movies ignore the shows, but the shows will acknowlege the movies to a minor degree here and there.

it's more of a could than a should. There could be a recasting because Feige might not care to keep the TV cast or Colter might be unavailable to reprise the role.

I'd imagine if there was interest in Colter he would MAKE himself available. He's a working actor... but not a whole lot of his resume which is as potentially as big as an MCU movie.

probably but for all we know he could have a dc role or something equally important to him that he couldn't back out of.

Chances are they probably weren't going to use the Defenders anyway as thats how Loeb got a hold of them in the first place.

It would be interesting if Cheo Coker comes back for the movie.
