I think the outfit looks amazing, though I find it silly how everyone and their mother is pushing for comic book characters to have more functional costumes or things that people would wear IRL.

It's okay, but it seems like it's doing what the Batgirl just did.

Looks a lot less like a superhero and more like an Agent of SHIELD.

i think that's the point although I'm not sure if it's such a good idea bringing on a new costume and direction on the fifth issue....they should have had this all thought up before the series was even announced....

Yeah, plus a general ripoff of Batgirl's new look.

I can't help but think this is also a reaction to the cover controversy from a couple of months ago too. If this had been planned from the outset she probably would've had the new look in issue 1.

From what I read, they said this was planned before that controversy.

I guess it is up to the beholder on whether that's true or not. XD

Well it seemed the costume change comes out of the events of Spider-Verse.

That's pretty cool I think. Not familiar with Batgirl so I dunno about the rip-off thing.

Well to be fair....Batgirl wasn't the first to have a design like that. I have seen fan made superheroes with the same tone and design years before the new Batgirl or this Spiderwoman costume. It sorta has me thinking that comic artisit are trolling and using deviant art more.

As to the new design. This be me third time saying it but overall I like it. It fits her a lot better than the old costume and makes more sense with her being a spy. Thumbs up for me.

Yeah... especially given that her solo book feels more like an extension of Spider-Verse than it does "Jessica's Book" right now. I don't think it's going to REALLY be her own book until Spider-Verse is over. May as well punctuate it with something fresh.

    .
Which in turn was DC trying to latch into Ms. Marvel's impact. Talk about a full circle no?

For me it looks more reminiscent of that Wonder Woman with pants that got people protesting. And talk about Marvel giving this design SHADEs to go with looking like Wonder Woman with Pants.

So basically, Superheroes can't look "super" anymore? They're all going to look like 2nd rate cosplayers now? I like the design itself aesthetically, but I'm not a huge fan of this trend.

Yeah, this is basically my thoughts. It's fine if you want to redesign a hero, but it seems the trend is now "Crap, people are ticked our women heroes don't dress realistically! Better appease them."
