You will be missed. Loved him in anything he did.

Yes, it does hurt. I grew up watching him, never knowing until later that he even played football. And in every role I saw him in he gave it his all, never dogging it like some actors do with roles they consider "beneath" them. When you saw him in the cast list, you always knew the movie was going to be better for his presence. It does hurt to lose someone like that, at least for me.

Agree he never phoned it in or just went through the motions. No role was too small or big for Carl.

I wish Carl Weathers had lived long enough to play Luke Cage's father, or another character in the Marvel film/TV world. Weathers was poised to play Cage in the early 90s development of the project (Stan Lee, Christopher Priest and Reggie Hudlin were involved with pitching/scripting), but things petered out before long. It really could have worked, even as a standalone franchise pre-MCU. The effects wouldn't have to have been elaborate. Bulletproof, some strength stunts, that's it.

I would simply play the commercials as filmed, but with a printed memorial message. He deserves that, and I'd love to see him one final time, even in a series of commercials.

They already had Reg E Cathey play Luke Cage’s father on the Netflix show, and he died soon after taping.
