Eh, we all get people mixed up from time to time. I still get confused when I see Dave Stewart credited for coloring thinking he was Dave Stevens who died. For few minutes I had him confused with Robert Wagner who played #2 in austin powers and tony's dad in NCIS.
You're thinking of Bob Hoskins (who died in April)

A remarkable long and great career. A true Movie Star who also excelled on TV. Just go down the list on on IMBD. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001258/?ref_=nv_sr_2 And he was always good in anything he did.
I'd forgotton he played Katy Segals dad in 8 Simple Rules after John Ritter died.
He did a lot of good stuff, made a new career as the tough old guy. Space Cowboys and My Fellow Americans were both like that and well done too.
My parents had a VHS tape of a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie he was in with Bill Cobb and Lawrence Fishburne called "Decoration Day". Back before Hallmark was just cranking out romcoms.
Such a pity. Garner was great in the Rockford Files.
Two of my all time favorite movies. Support Your Local Gunfighter and Support Your Local Sheriff. RIP Mr. Garner
Skye McCole Bartusiak 21 passed away this morning. It is unknown what she caused her death but she has been prone to seizures and was found sitting up in bed. The speculation is that she choked on her own sick. She is best known for the movie the patriot in which she co-starred with mel gibson when she was seven. She was also in one of my mom's favorite movies Love Comes Softly.
I watched The Rockford Files when I was young. Mr. Garner will be missed.
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
James Garner was one of my all time favorite actors. He was charming, handsome and just gave a brilliant performance in everything he was in.
He will be missed.
James Garner is one my ALL-TIME Favorites.
In tribute I watched: THE WHEELER DEALERS, MARLOWE, and Support Your Local Gunfighter.
Plus 2 episodes of the ROCKFORD FILES. One of the episodes,"The Great Blue Lake"
had a guest appearance by the recently departed Bob Hastings.
Garner was a big fan of the Oakland/LA Raiders.

i'm still and probably will never be over the death of philip seymour hoffman.
He was a pioneer for Asian American actors. Here's a great writeup of Shigeta, notably his small performance in Die Hard, by Matt Zoller Seitz at www.rogerebert.com
