Never watched FIRST BLOOD, so I had no idea he was in that. I knew him from a lot of other things. The movie I can't help but think of is BELLY OF AN ARCHITECT--which very few people would have seen, but it was a very odd movie, directed by Peter Greenaway and seemed to be written for Brian Dennehy and no one else but him.

Two time Oscar-nominee actress Shirley Knight has passed away.

I can't say that I saw a lot of the movies she was in, the only one I have specific memories of is As Good As It Gets. However, I looked up her IMDB listing and she did a host of TV appearances on a lot of shows that I watched, so I know I saw her in those roles.

Harold Reid of the Statler Brothers has died of kidney failure at age 80.

Although known more as a singer with his group The Statler Brothers, Harold Reid did have a regular tv show with the group on TNN so he was a television personality as well.

Harold was the bass singer and the comedian of the group. The Statler Brothers were not all brothers and was named after a box of tissues. However, Harold did have one sibling in the group, his brother Don.

Harold co-wrote several of their hits with his brother, including A Bed of Roses. My family listened and watched the group regularly and loved the band very much.
