A sad irony was that Kobe died in 2020, the year that marks the 40th anniversary of the senseless murder of John Lennon, a tragedy that badly shook me and scores of people the world over.

There are quite a few parallels in the lives and careers of John Lennon and Kobe Bryant. Both were extraordinarily talented individuals who achieved unprecedented success in and revolutionized their fields, drew a measure of controversy during their time, and passed unexpectedly and shockingly in their early forties as they were beginning new phases in their lives and careers.

Jack Burns, whose Warren Ferguson unsuccessfully attempted to replace Barney Fife as the deputy on The Andy Griffith Show has passed away at age 86. However, he was a successful writer and comedian throughout his career. I also remember him doing several seasons of Hee Haw with his former co-star George 'Goober' Lindsey.

Soap opera actress Marj Dusay has passed away at age 83.

She appeared on several soaps, including playing Alexandra Spaulding on The Guiding Light for most of the 90s and 00s until it was cancelled.

She played the alien who steals Spock's brain in a 3rd season episode of the original Star Trek and also had a recurring role as Blair Warner's mother on The Facts of Life.

Race car driver John Andretti dies from cancer. At least he's no longer suffering. He had been battling the disease for quite a while.

    Rest In Peace, Kirk Douglas.
In honor of his passing I listen to all three of his appearances on SUSPENSE.
"The Butcher's Wife" "Community Property" and "The Story of Markhams Death".

Kevin Conway has passed away at 77.

I know him mostly from an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. I think the idea was to make his character a recurring nemesis for Jeff Goldblum's character Detective Zack Nichols.

Orson Bean has passed at 91. He was hit by a car.

I've seen him in so many things growing up. He was good in his small role in The Equalizer 2. And I did not know he was married to the woman who played the mom from the Wonder Years. Wow.

    RIP.

That's terrible. It's one thing to die of old age or complications due to age, but to live that long and then be killed in a stupid accident.
