It has been a pretty bad day for Broadway. First Chita Rivera dies and now comes the news that 3-time Tony Award-winning actor Hinton Battle, perhaps best known by genre fans for playing "Sweet" (and doing the choreography) for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Once More with Feeling", has passed away.

Man that's a rough one. I loved him in everything I saw him in. I thought he was a perfect fit as the DA in Chicago Justice. And I remember Stallone admitting killing Apollo Creed was a mistake, how he should have made him wheelchair bound instead. I'd like to think he would have eventually put Weathers in an Expendables movie. I thought his character Hampton Forbes was the perfect successor to Virgil Tibbs in the final season of In The Heat of the Night...

I could go on but I'll just say RIP

The man was just a great actor. Here's a reference to a lesser known Weathers movie, Force Ten From Navarone, starring Robert Shaw, Harrison Ford, Edward Fox, and Weathers among others. He gave his usual great performance in that one.

This another one that feels like a gut punch.

    RIP Carl Weathers.

I choose to not believe Weathers died in his sleep....

    No.......

That man went down like a Warrior fighting a Predator to the end.

Even the Predator gave respect to him at the end.

Carl Weathers- Wow this one hurts. One of the all-time greats. Action Jackson is still my jam. Rest in power King.

Yes, it does hurt. I grew up watching him, never knowing until later that he even played football. And in every role I saw him in he gave it his all, never dogging it like some actors do with roles they consider "beneath" them. When you saw him in the cast list, you always knew the movie was going to be better for his presence. It does hurt to lose someone like that, at least for me.
