^TCM had been reducing his workload bit by bit for the last few years, so this isn't exactly unsurprising, but I'm still very saddened. TCM is my favorite channel, and he was like the ultimate college professor who knew just how to frame what you were about to watch. He was an ambassador for classic film to modern day.

I just happened to see his Gilligan's Island episode a few days ago.

Don: "As a kid we would play cops and robbers, and I always had to be the cop. I never got to play the good guy."

Ginger: "The cops are the good guys."

    Don: "Not in my neighborhood."

    Tim Pigott-Smith died yesterday https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...h-dies-aged-70

He was best known for playing the racist police officer, Ronald Merrick, in the wonderful ITV Granada series The Jewel in the Crown, one of the best British TV dramas of all time.

A more recent role was as Creedy in V for Vendetta.

considering all the things he's remembered for, in some ways, he's surpassed his brother.

Certainly over the last fifteen years.
"I rhyme with tyre - And cause pollution - I think you'll find - It's the best solution: What Am I?"

"And that's the essential problem with 'Planetary' right there. When Elijah Snow says, 'The world is a strange place'... he gets Dracula, Doc Savage and Godzilla... When we say it, we get The Captain Fire-Cock Rock 'n' Roll Spectacular."
