Man, that's a shame. Dude put in work for decades and seemed to just recently get mainstream roles. Any old heads think of Boothe's face when you think of Jim Jones and the Kool-aid? Sad, RIP.
Beefing up the old home security, huh?
    You bet yer ass.

I hated him in many of his roles. And that means that he *really* sold those villain roles, to the best. That is pure skill. I also appreciate that he alternated between high-profile TV and big-name movie roles.

There've been times where I'd daydream about what kind of movie I'd want to make, and who I'd want in it. I always thought it'd be a kick to see Powers Boothe in a friendly neighborly or grandfatherly -- and a modern, non villainous, non-conspiracy, non-government role, just for shits and giggles.

Man, we lost one of the good ones.

Before I had started school--back in the early '60s--the CBC played reruns of IVANHOE in the middle of the day. [I was but a mewling newborn babe when this series was originally broadcast.] I would always have my mother turn this on, as Ivanhoe was my hero. Although, prithee, I must confession make that the stories were beyond my childish ken and 'twas mainly so to heareth the theme his song and rideth around our living room 'pon my pretend steed, singing along in full voice. Sure there was THE SAINT and MAVERICK and later THE PERSUADERS, then movies like LIVE AND LET DIE. But for me Roger Moore will always be that young hero, Ivanhoe!

When you've played Simon Templar AND James Bond you officially have the right to call yourself the world's suavest man.

RIP Sir Roger Moore. We shall not see his like again.

At least he managed to 'live just long enough' to get what he really wanted...

Another one from that great show is gone.

Sad to hear about Stephen Furst I loved him in Animal House and Babylon 5. So sad how many B5 cast members we've lost.
