Burt Reynolds was one of the coolest guys on the planet to me when I was a kid. Smokey and the Bandit and Cannonball Run movies...then I went back and started watching other stuff...White Lightning, Deliverance, Longest Yard, Hooper, Gator, and so on and so on...RIP Burt.

One of my all time favourite Burt Reynolds movies that I saw in the theatre when it came out was THE END (1978), starring Burt, Dom and Sally--directed by Reynolds. RIP.

Just finished watching Smokey and the Bandit on Amazon Prime. Even after forty years, it’s still an 18-wheeler full of fun.

Makes me wonder how they ever made the moves with Burt and Dom, given that to me they seem to have the habit of cracking each other up every time that they're within like twenty feet of each other...

This is what I mostly know Burt Reynolds from:

One day I'll see the Smokey and the Bandit movies in their entirety. I always seem to catch bits and pieces.

Vanessa Marquez was shot and killed by police. According to the article she has apparently been suffering from mental illness for years and pulled a gun on them (which turned out to be a BB gun) during a welfare check. RIP.
