Do you think DC should skip a September event next year?

The common thought is that Convergence, Darkseid War and Godhead are all leading into next year's event.

This is what I reckon. There's been a huge amount of New Gods stuff in a lot of the books recently (Earth 2/World's End, Future's End, Batman and Robin, Godhead in Green Lantern, Infinity Man and the Forever People, Darkseid War in Justice League), and I find it hard to believe it's not all co-ordinated to reach some big Crisis Anniversary event later in the year. Providing Darkseid War is just a prologue to the event a la Trinity War, then it's not hard to believe it'll only be 3 issues.

I don't mind the September event thing too much so I wouldn't mind if they do it again, which I think they will.

The past few September's they've been top of comic sales for the month. It's the one time of the year DC gets to be #1 in the industry, until that changes, the September events will be annual.

Right. It would be nonsensical to stop it from an economic standpoint, so that will trump any other considerations.

I would like a normal month but with 3D covers. If not whatever they do, if it is handled as well as FE then I don't mind.

Seems a bit weird to me that those new titles under 8 issues or less will already be having a gimmick September issue. If it works that's great.

Yes, I think two interruptions of the story lines in a year comes off as mostly frustrating as a reader, especially as there will only be three months between them. I think it will be most frustrating for whatever titles they launch after Convergence.

But I still think they will do it because it has helped in their sales year after year and they are building up an event with the whole Darkseid War so I can see them prepping those issues, even though they don't have all the creative teams in place as to who is continuing on titles after Convergence is over.

I wish they would, since with Convergence and a September gimmick there will only be nine months of regular ongoing issues, but September is such a big month for DC I doubt they will.

It'd be nice if they did, yeah, but I sort of doubt it.

My hope is that they find a way to make it relatively unobtrusive this year.

Instead of the heroes from various universes fighting each other, I would prefer to see the heroes team up against Darkseid's anti life demons or shadow demons or para demons from planet Telos.

Maybe the gimmick for September will be that they put out something that isn't awful. That could work

If the event is crisis you can't skip it because Crisis has to be all encompassing. Plus they always get a sales boost and that is a good thing

It seems like all of 2015 is going to be consumed by events, so there might not even be a "September" event except as part of the year-long series of events.

What I'm expecting...

Apr-May - Convergence
June - Relaunch month, Darkseid War lead in to Crisis
July - Darkseid War
Aug - Darkseid War ends/merges with Crisis start
Sept - Crisis one-shots
Oct-Dec - Crisis
