Can Tony Stark Extract The Extremis Out Of His Body?

I red the fantastic two first issues of Superior Iron Man. Something got my eye.
Tony appears to be more like a cyborg than being a human (with shining eyes, gaining more control over techological systems and advanced physical stregth).
But i kind of wonder...Can Tony extract all these upgrades he made to his body in case something go wrong with the Extremis inside his system?

Reed Richards extracted Extremis from Stark's body back in Invincible Iron Man 517. As far as I know, he never had it re-inserted or whatever.

That'll definitely end up a point of angst for Tony down the line once he gets the sense back to realize that it's all his fault when it goes further south than amass addiction wave.
